Did you know that the UK has lost 97% of its wildflower meadows since WW2? We decided to push back on that horrid statistic by launching our first community growing project, The Mendip Butterfly Oasis! We gave away wildflower meadow seeds to local schools, nursery’s businesses, residential homes for the elderly and local residents, so that we can grow mini-meadows in our gardens and green spaces and make Winscombe and the surrounding villages a haven for butterflies.

We have donated over 150m2 of seed and are hoping to build on this year on year until the Mendip villages becomes an Oasis for butterflies and other pollinators.

Funded by The Impact Alliance, we are also running a series of workshops and talks to bring people together, support local wildlife, make friends and get creative!
